So I’ve been in Utah for almost exactly two weeks now and I’ve been more busy this past week than I have in my whole life! Monday, I began TA orientation. As many of you know, I was offered a position as a TA in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Utah. Monday was the beginning of a four day Teaching Assistant Orientation that was put on by the Master TAs in our Department, Karen Marsh and Kristen Lindhal. These two have been great inspirations and help over this very stressful and busy week.

Well, it has been exactly one week since I arrived in Salt Lake City! I’ve been living on MY own alone since Tuesday and I honestly can say that this is the first time I’ve had my own place all to myself without people knocking at more door for this or that (RA/RM reference). I’m not really sure how I feel about the whole living alone thing. I’m such a social person and I’ve felt quite lonely a few times but overall I really enjoy being able to clean something up when I feel like cleaning it up and not HAVING to clean it up right away.

After 35 hours of traveling in a truck pulling a big trailer across the US, I am finally sitting in my apartment, sipping at some of my uncle’s peach wine, alone in Utah! The trip was quite exhausting and the only sleep I did get was from pure exhaustion! I usually cannot sleep very well when I’m not reclining at a 180 degree angle.

So it has finally come….my last day in Ohio! I’ve had a lot of last days in Ohio lately but this one seems a little more final just because I never plan on moving back to Ohio permanently. It isn’t as sad as going away to Europe for 9 months either as I’m only heading across the country and I can still talk to people on the phone.

Since I’m a proud owner of an iPhone I started thinking about how I could make my website accessible to iPhones. I’m still working on making the complete site compatible with iPhone but in the mean time I’ve found a WordPress plugin that transfers my blogs into being compatible with the Safari that is on the iPhone.

About a month ago I found about this awesome new activity called “geocaching”. I had seen the word “geocaching” mentioned on a friend’s Facebook status and looked into it and found the Geocaching website! I looked into it and learned about what it is. Well the past three days I’ve spent hanging out with people I haven’t seen in a while and again telling them goodbye for an undetermined time. Yes, I do plan on coming home for Christmas and I hope I can see friends and visit with them during that time. That time of the year is a very busy time so it is hard to say if it will be possible at this time.
